In the summer of 1976, two brothers came together to open a bakery of their own. They named it the B P Bakery in honor of their parents – Bhiman and Pattaniammal, who had given them their life savings for their venture. Sankaran and Kannan were not new to the bakery business for they had honed their skills from the age of thirteen in Excelsior Bakery. These brothers from Krishnagiri are now veterans in the business and have made it big amongst bakers in the city.
One of the oldest
This establishment is one of the oldest bakeries in Bengaluru and probably the oldest bakery in Ulsoor. The bakery has been serving mouth-watering delicacies for over four decades now and sees lots of footfalls every day. It has certainly managed to retain its old charm and work its magic with the baked foods.
Mutton Puffs
The signature item of this bakery is its mutton puffs which changed the playing field and catapulted B.P. Bakery to fame and fortune. The mutton puffs are delicious and are like a flavor bomb in your mouth. This is the single dish that had Bengalureans queueing up decades ago and still remains a crowd-puller.
