The Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Ltd. (BMRCL) will suspend Namma Metro services between MG Road & Indiranagar from December 28 to 30. The corporation took this decision after it sighted cracks on the pillar along Namma Metro’s Purple Line. The suspension will come to effect from 8 pm onwards on December 28 after which BMRCL will carry out all the repair works.
According to reports, the train services of the Purple Line between MG Road and Mysuru Road as well as Byappanahalli and Indira Nagar sections will continue to operate as usual. These trains will operate at different locations that will range from 6 to 15 minutes. Rest of the train’s network along the Purple Line will work as usual.
Details About Changes In Namma Metro Services Runaway
On December 28, the trains that will leave Mysuru Road on or before 7:30 pm will reach Byappanahalli whereas the trains that will leave Byappanahalli on or before 7:45 pm will head towards Mysuru Road. The trains that will depart after this will run between Indiranagar and Byapanahalli stations and Mysuru Road and MG Road.
Passengers traveling along the Green Line may have to face some inconvenience during these days. It is because BMRCL services will provide tokens for the stations that go beyond MG Road only up to 6:45 pm on December 28. The corporation has also come up with a free feeder bus service between 8 am and 11 pm in between Cubbon Park and Baiyappanahalli Metro Stations.
The schedule of metro rail service will be restored by the end of this year on December 31 to avoid any inconvenience for the late night commuters on the Eve of New Year.
Repair Works To Start Near Trinity Metro Station
A team of BMRCL found out cracks in metro tracks during an inspection on December 9 near Trinity Metro Station. The team tried to support the pillar by setting up iron beams. It caused a delay of one hour in the Metro services. Later on, the BMRCL officials noticed that the slider of the tracks was dislocated as well.
Currently, BMRCL is conducting the repair work only after 11 pm but it may need more time to complete the repairing work. Earlier BMRCL stated that it will pause the Namma metro services on December 22 and 23. However, now the dates have been pushed further. The good news, however, is that people who regularly commute using metro services will have relief from the suspension from new year onwards.
