After hours of rain in Bengaluru, many arterial roads, including parts of the Outer Ring Road (ORR), were flooded and congested. According to the Met Department, there may be temporary power outages in some areas, minor traffic jams, and tree and branch uprooting.
Heavy rain in IT capital
Up until 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Bengaluru received 19mm of rain. Waterlogging was reported in tech corridors such as Bellandur, and underpasses near Sankey Road and Lingarajapuram were waterlogged last evening, according to reports.
Several underpasses became ponds as a result of the rain. And vehicles passing through Bellandur were particularly hard hit, as the entire road was covered in knee-deep water.
Bellandur Road near EcoSpace, Bannerghatta Road near Sagar Hospital Junction, Lingarajapuram underpass, Sivananda Circle, Chickpet Main Road, Sankey Road, and KR Circle underpasses, and Old Madras Road near RMZ Infinity were among the roads that could not withstand the downpour.
