Wuhan Virus: Chinese Animal Markets Reopened With Almost No Precautions

China President

After almost four months since the outbreak of one of the worst pandemic the planet has witnessed in China, the animal markets have been reopened. While this means that life in China is returning to normalcy, the reopening of animal markets without any precautions for the future outbreak has infused anxiety over the world.

The novel coronavirus that first broke out in the Wuhan province of China and within months it has spread all over the world. The epicenter has been shifting, first from China to Italy and Europe and now slowly the United States looks threatening with over 140,000 confirmed cases.

There has been a lot of speculation about the origin of the virus. One of the most popular theories is the virus spreading from bats sold in the wet market of Wuhan. Although there is no substantial evidence of it, the scientists are convinced that the virus has spread from an animal. Ever since the suspicion arose, the Chinese government closed down animal markets especially the Wet market of Wuhan.

Markets Reopened With No Precautions

Bats and Scorpions are back at the meat markets of China just as China is recovering from the outbreak that has shaken the world claiming over thirty thousand lives. An eye witness has reported to the UK Daily that huge crowds were seen instantly at the markets but without any precautions. The eye witness also termed it to be a deeply troubling visual. According to the eye witness, there have been no measures taken to regulate hygiene thereby leaving the possibility of another wave of outbreak open.

In Dongguan, one of the places where markets have been reopened, bats are seen advocated by a medicine seller. The Chinese government has been urging the public to go back to work and return their daily routine. Although there are new infections being reported from China, the people have already claimed victory against the virus.

Another thing reported by the unnamed witness was that the watchmen in these markets were stopping people from taking pictures. This will only fuel the hate China has been receiving for being the ‘architect’ of the virus that has so far reached 202 regions around the world and causing the crash of the global economy.
