After the Uttar Pradesh cabinet meeting, the government led by Yogi Adityanath announced that it will provide financial assistance to daily-wage laborers in the state who will be hit by the Coronavirus shutdown.

Taking early decisions, CM Yogi Adityanath has chosen to form a high-level committee under the chairmanship of Finance Minister Suresh Khanna, including agriculture and labor ministers, to decide the nature of the assistance to the laborers.
“There is a section of poor people who go out for work daily to make money for a living, but these restrictions could affect their livelihood. To ensure that the daily-wage laborers are not affected, a three-member committee has been formed under the chairmanship of the state finance minister,” said government spokesperson and minister Shrikant Sharma.
“The committee will also have agriculture minister and labor minister. The committee will submit its report to the chief minister in three days. The poor, most of whom earn their livelihood daily, will get a certain amount in their account through RTGS,” added Sharma.
No pay cuts
It is also said that CM has directed to provide free of cost treatment for those infected to coronavirus. Meanwhile, if any government employee or private company employee has got infected by corona, he/she will continue to get his/her salary, and there will be no pay cut.
“As far as the government employees are concerned, a committee has been formed under the state chief secretary, and work-from-home protocol should be allowed where it is possible. All types of protests, dharna in the state have been completely banned,” Sharma said.
Meanwhile, in the cabinet meeting, it was also decided to ban all forms of protest and demonstrations in the state to shield the general public from this pandemic.
“At present, the state is under stage II of coronavirus and with an effective campaign and public awareness, we can prevent it from reaching the critical stage III,” Sharma underlined.
In the latest update, till now, 13 coronavirus positive cases have been identified in UP at Agra, Lucknow, Noida, and Ghaziabad with the Taj City leading the tally with 8 cases.
