“The message is clear. We are not going to stand by and let China or anyone else take the reins in terms of being the most powerful, dominant force, whether it’s in that region or over here. Our military might stand strong and will continue to stand strong, whether it’s in relation to a conflict between India and China or anywhere else.”

Meadows further added that the mission of the United States is to make sure that the world knows that the country still has the preeminent fighting force in the world.

India And Chinese Withdraw Troops

Days after Prime Minister visited Ladakh and met the Army thereby sent a clear cut political message to China, the Chinese forces have reportedly withdrawn its troops from the place where the violent face-off took place on the 15th of June that resulted in 20 casualties on the Indian side. Reportedly, Indian forces have also withdrawn from the region thereby creating a buffer zone between the two troops.

The sources also said that the Chinese have begun withdrawing forces and also removing structures they had built in the area. There seems to be disengagement only in the Galwan valley. The sources added that one needs to wait and see if this is a genuine and lasting disengagement.

The Indian side has also pulled its troops back but as per the sources, it is done in a manner where no territory has been given up. This is done with the purpose of separating the two military forces by a certain distance which will create a sense of confidence to the process of disengagement. This comes three days after Prime Minister Modi visited Ladakh.

The recent satellite images had proved that the Chinese have intruded across the Line of Actual Control and have deployed heavy weaponry. The Chinese have also constructed many structures illegally. The satellite images also show that the Chinese have illegally occupied 423 meters of Indian territory in the Galwan valley.
