In a bizarre video that’s been doing the rounds of social media, a Pakistani politician is seen saying that the novel coronavirus sleeps when we, humans sleep.
The politician has ever since been the butt of the jokes on social media from both Indian and Pakistani users. In the video, he has suggested people sleep more as the virus will also sleep when people are sleeping. The politician recognized as Fazal-ur-Rahman was a member of Parliament in Pakistan for over 20 years has become the new victim of social media trolling. He said,
“The more you sleep, your virus will also sleep and it won’t be able to harm you. Hence, it sleeps when you sleep then it also does when we die.”

The video has so far garnered over 1000 likes and has been shared for more than 300 times. The social media users showed no mercy in trolling the politician’s stupidity. One user on Twitter said that the virus will die of shame after hearing the statement made by the politician. Another user said that the virus speaks when the politician speaks.
Celebrities Test Positive
On Saturday, the former Pakistan Prime Minister Yusuf Raza Gilani tested positive for the novel coronavirus. With that, he became the top figure in the country to test positive along with former Pakistan Cricket captain Shahid Afridi. Prior to that, the chief of the opposition party Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz, Shehnaz Sharif, also tested positive for the coronavirus.
Gilani’s son Kasim took to Twitter to announce the news and took a sarcastic jibe at the Imran Khan government. He wrote,
“Thank you Imran Khan’s government and National Accountability Bureau! You have successfully put my father’s life in danger.”
The novel coronavirus outbreak in the country of Pakistan has turned grim as the number of cases soared past 1,00,000. The total number of cases in Pakistan stands at 139,230 with over 2,632 deaths. Over 51,735 people in the country have been recovered successfully from COVID-19. On Saturday, Pakistan tested a record number of samples in a day with over 29,850 tests in 24 hours. The total tests conducted in the country is around 839,019.
