While appearing on an American Podcast show, the legendary boxer Mike Tyson failed to recall being featured in Vijay Deverakonda’s movie Liger.
Shocking statement
Liger, Vijay Deverakonda’s most significant production and his first pan-India effort, was scripted and directed by Puri Jagannath. The film is an action thriller where Vijay plays a role of a boxer.
Most importantly the film also features iconic boxer, Mike Tyson, in a small yet important role. The Baddest Man on the Planet even appeared in its trailer. However, the iconic boxer once couldn’t recall the day he ever shot for the film.
While appearing in an American Podcast show named ‘Full Send Podcast’, the American Boxer was asked about his experience working in a Bollywood film. After the team played the trailer video of the film, Mike Tyson fails to recognize it.
“I hope this is supposed to be me on the trailer. Right? I don’t know this s*it,” Mike said.
Take a look at the video:
Deverakonda was abused
Coming to the film, Vijay Deverakonda has a few fight scenes with Mike Tyson. He had trained for nearly two years to get into shape for the same. During an interview, Arjun Reddy actor revealed that the iconic boxer jokingly abused him on the film sets. He added that Tyson is a good person to work with.
“He abused me a lot, albeit lovingly, in English and I can’t even repeat what he said to me. But yes, I had a good time with him,” he told IANS.
Vijay Deverakonda added that Mike Tyson is fond of Indian food and music. The legendary boxer, however, is afraid of the crowds here.
“He loves India a lot for its food, music, and people. In fact, he used to ask us to bring Indian food for him which he enjoyed a lot. But yes, he is scared of the crowd here,” he said.
Liger is a sports drama that features Vijay Deverakonda in the role of a Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) fighter with a speech issue. Ananya Panday, who was last seen in the Deepika Padukone-led romantic drama Gehraiyaan, makes her Tollywood debut with the film. Liger also features Ramya Krishnan, Ronit Roy, and Makrand Deshpande, among others, in crucial roles.
