Filmmaker Lohith’s next film Devaki is on the verge of the release after clearing the censors. We have learned that the film was handed a U/A certificate after the censor officers expressed their positive feedback on the film. This should boost the confidence of the team. Given the subject of the film, the U/A rating would come as a pleasant surprise for the team which is gearing up for the release.
It is being speculated that the film’s release will be around the last week of June or the first week of July. Prior to that, a trailer will be released. The teaser of the film was released a few weeks back.
Buzz is that the trailer of Devaki starring Priyanka Upendra will be attached to the Upendra starrer I love you which is due for release this month.
A couple of weeks back, Devaki created a wave across social media by becoming the second most awaited Indian film on IMDB. The film is set against the backdrop of Human Trafficking which is one of the most heinous crimes to have hit the country since a decade. The film is extensively shot in the city of Kolkata. A lot of native Bengali actors have been cast for the Bengali roles in the film.
The film also marks to the debut of Aishwarya Upendra, the daughter of Upendra of Priyanka Upendra. With I love you and Devaki releasing soon, the mood in the family must be pretty joyous.
This is the second directorial of Lohith who has earlier directed the horror film Mummy which went onto become a hit at the box office. The expectations of Devaki is huge.
