Wajid Khan, of the prominent music composer duo Sajid-Wajid, breathed his last at a private hospital in Mumbai on the wee hours of Monday. The talented composer was 42 years old.
Kidney infection the cause of death
It is said that Wajid Khan was admitted to Mumbai’s Surana Hospital in Chembur a few days ago following complications related to a kidney infection. His condition eventually deteriorated and on Monday, he breathed his last. Wajid was reportedly on the ventilator for the last four days.
Talking about the news, Salim Merchant said: “He had multiple issues. He had a kidney issue and had a transplant a while ago. But recently he got to know about kidney infection… He was on the ventilator for the last four days, after his situation started getting worse. Kidney infection was the beginning and then he got critical.“
Sajid-Wajid made their debuts with the 1998 Salman Khan movie ‘Pyaar Kiya Toh Darna Kya’. The duo is known for their camaraderie with Salman, having composed for many other films of the actor such as Partner and Welcome. Wajid is the co-composer of the recent songs released by Salman during the lockdown.
Wajid also has lent his voice for a couple of songs. He sang tracks such as Mera He Jalwa, Fevicol Se, Chinta Ta Chita Chita, Mashallah, among others.
