Since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, healthcare professionals have truly been selfless warriors – they have given up everything to carry out their duties, even at the cost of cutting themselves off from their loved ones for months on end.

Standing strong with thermometers, stethoscopes and ventilators as weapons, the healthcare army has been putting their own life at risk to save others.

More recently, a Redditor shared a picture showing exhausted nurses passed out on hospital chairs after a day of hectic work, in a hospital in Odisha. The caption read, ‘Exhausted nurses after a shift in a Dedicated COVID hospital in Odisha. I swear we don’t thank them enough. These guys are awesome’.

The picture, according to the user, was posted with consent and it also mentioned that the medical professionals were taking care of his father infected with COVID-19.

A lot of people felt the same way, as evident by the comments on the picture.

‘I feel sad for these nurses. These nurses are overworked and often underpaid for their services. These are true heroes in our society. Working day after day when they know there is a risk of infection and not stopping or backing down’, read one comment.

They ask where is GOD? I say here they are choosing this profession and risking their lives to save others. I hope those idiots who beat doctors come to their senses. Also glad Central Govt. recently passed a bill of strict punishment if a doctor suffers violent treatment from patients family’, read another comment on Reddit.

Back in July, a picture of a  nurse from Assam wearing a PPE suit resting on the floor went viral. ‘A heartfelt picture of a Nurse from Khanapara(Assam) Covid centre: Temperature of Guwahati is around 32°. Now, just imagine the pain they are going through. Proud of our @nhm_assam Warriors’, the photo was captioned.
