According to a recent development, the owner of ‘Baba ka Dhaba’ received death threats by unidentified persons. The owner of the famous eatery that shot to fame after a YouTube video alleged that he is scared of stepping out of his house.
The owner of Baba ka Dhaba, Kanta Prasad, alleged that some people also threatened to set his eatery ablaze. Kanta Prasad’s lawyer Prem Joshi said that he suspected foul play from YouTuber Gaurav Wasan.
People jealous over sudden fame
Tired of receiving the threats, Prasad filed a complaint at the Malviya Nagar police station. The complainant alleged that “jealous” people were targeting him as he became famous overnight. Prasad said that he does not have any rivalry with anyone, India Today reported.
While Prasad’s lawyer accused Wasan of the threats, the latter denied the allegations. Wasan also said that Prasad was being misled. He added, “The police will now reveal the truth in this matter.”
The Delhi Police lodged a cheating case against Wasan after Prasad accused him of fraud. Prasad told the cops that he was cheated of lakhs of rupees through donations collected in his (Prasad) name. After the preliminary inquiry, Wasan was booked by the Malviya Nagar police under section 420 (cheating) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
Baba ka Dhaba became a household name after YouTuber Gaurav Wasan shot a video of the eatery, urging people to buy food for them. After the YouTube video was posted, people thronged to the dhaba and shared posts on social media to spread the word and save the eatery from closing down.
