Superstar Rajinikanth is all set to start shooting his new movie ‘Jailer’ from August 15th or 22nd. The much-anticipated film will see the reunion of Ramya and Rajinikanth.

Ramya Krishnan, who is awaiting the release of Liger starring Vijay Deverakonda, confirmed that she is a part of Nelson Dilipkumar’s directional Jailer. She confirmed to the media that she has been roped in for a pivotal role in Superstar Rajinikanth’s upcoming film which will start its shoot shortly. This marks the reunion of the two stars after Padayappa, which was released in 1999. Though Ramya played a cameo in Baba (2002), Padayappa saw her playing a full-fledged role.
Before Baahubali, it was Padayappa that earned Ramya the actual fame. She played the antagonist opposite Rajinikanth in KS Ravikumar’s film. The Nelson Dilipkumar directorial Jailer goes on floors this month and it is lauded to be the 169th film of Superstar Rajinikanth. Ramya said, “I will start shooting for Jailer with Rajinikanth very soon. I am very excited.”
Shooting details
While shoot details are not known yet, according to some rumors the full-fledged shoot of Jailer will begin post-August 15, and it’s going to be some special promo and test shoot on August 10. Reports also claim that the film also features Bollywood diva Aishwarya Rai and Sandalwood sensation Shiva Rajkumar in key roles, though none of the actors have confirmed their roles yet.
Anirudh Ravichander has been roped in as the music composer for the project, while Doctor fame Vijay Kartik Kannan will be handling the cinematography. The film is bankrolled by the production banner Sun Pictures, which had also produced Rajinikanth’s previous outing Annaatthe which was helmed by Siva.
Meanwhile, Ramya Krishnan is gearing up for the release of her upcoming film Liger which features actor Vijay Deverakonda in the titular role and also stars actor Ananya Panday. Helmed by Puri Jagannadh, the film is set to hit the big screens on August 25. The cast of the sports drama also includes actors Ronit Roy, Ali, Makarand Deshpande, Shah Emtiaj, Vishu Reddy, Srinu Boddupalli, and Abdul Quadir Amin in significant roles.
