The President of the AIMIM, Asaduddin Owaisi, On Tuesday, mocked the Prime Minister’s announcement of the extension of the Prime Minister Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana and said he should have spoken about China.
On Tuesday, the Prime Minister addressed the nation and announced a couple of important things that include the extension of the Prime Minister Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana program that is likely to benefit 80 crore people. Continuing his attacks on Prime Minister Modi and the Bharatiya Janata Party, Asaduddin Owaisi mocked the announcement by saying he should have spoken about China but he spoke about Chana instead. In the scheme, Prime Minister had announced free 1 kilograms of Chana to every eligible household.
Owaisi sarcastically said that the extension of the scheme is necessary because of the ‘unplanned’ lockdown imposed by the government that left the working class without food. He also took a jibe at the Prime Minister for listing every upcoming festival but not the festivals of other religions. He wrote,
“Also noticed that you listed many festivals in the coming months but missed Baqr Eid?”

As close to 80 crore people in the country are going to be benefitted by the move. All the 80 crore families will be provided with 5 kilograms of either rice or wheat for each member of the family each month. This move will reportedly cost the government over 90 thousand crores.
