As rosy as it looks from the outside, there is a lot of work that goes on the inside. From sourcing ingredients, planning shoots, outlining the recipes, shooting and editing can take up a lot of time and effort in making just two-minute videos. “My husband and I plan the entire week’s schedule well in advance. We include recipes from different categories which helps users try them in their daily routines,” shares Archana. The blog has now allowed so many home cooks to experiment with recipes and get them right. Be it fermenting idli/dosa batter or perfecting an eggless cake.

Operation wise, a small team runs Hebbar’s Kitchen—the Hebbars in Australia and their friend, Shreeprada runs the operations in Mumbai. While Sudarshan, her husband, focuses on his work during the weekdays, he assists his wife post-work and during weekends. You’ll be surprised as they do everything in-house. Right from shooting on a tripod to editing the videos and also writing blogs on kitchen tips, tricks and health benefits of ingredients readily available in Indian kitchens and much more.

The Hebbars have also arrayed into the app world which is available for anyone to download so that you can have the recipes literally, at your fingertips! And now, the space has many more competitors and she has to strive to retain her growth and place in the industry. Not just adults, the recipes developed are super easy that even kids can try their hands out.

Her work also inspires the youth living in hostels or by themselves who have taken to cooking rather than ordering food from outside. Albeit her focus will always be on traditional and regional dishes in addition to all the new recipes they keep trying out. Archana enjoys all the ups and downs and the sheer joy of creating content and making a difference in someone’s life. What began as a hobby, became her passion and now, her profession.
