Mahesh Bhatt Reveals His Bond With Rhea And That Sushant Wasn’t Approached For ‘Sadak 2’

On Monday, Mahesh Bhatt was snapped at the Santacruz police station as he arrived to record his statement in Sushant Singh Rajput’s death case. According to the reports, the filmmaker stated that he only met the ‘Kedarnath’ actor twice. The report further stated that he was close to Sushant’s girlfriend Rhea Chakraborty because of their film.

Actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s rumoured girlfriend actress Rhea Chakraborty was interrogated by the Bandra police on Thursday for more than nine hours in connection with the late actor’s death by suicide.

Rhea and Sushant were allegedly living together and the actress reportedly left Sushant’s house a few days before the incident. The other questions of the police, as per the report, were related to the status of their relationship, plans to get married and her relationship with the actor’s friend and family.

Although Rhea was accompanied by her father to the police station, her father wasn’t allowed to be present while she was being interrogated.

The Mumbai Police on Monday recorded the statement of film director Mahesh Bhatt as part of its investigation into the death of actor Sushant Singh Rajput. The police are yet to record the statement of film producer and director Karan Johar this weekend.

A senior police officer said Bhatt was questioned about his association with Rajput. “Bhatt told us that he had met Rajput only twice, the first time in August 2018, after which he had also praised Rajput in a Twitter post, and the second time in January this year,” the officer added.

Bhatt said he did not discuss films or casting the actor in any of his films during either meeting. “At the first meeting, they spoke about a book Bhatt claimed to have been writing at that time,” said the officer, adding that at the second meeting at Rajput’s home, his girlfriend Rhea Chakraborty was also present.

Reacting to allegations made by people on social media that he cast only established stars in his films, Bhatt told police that his film production house, Vishesh Films, worked only with newcomers. “We called Bhatt to corroborate certain facts that have come to light during the course of the investigation and to clear doubts in people’s minds about our investigations,” the officer said.
