Mahabharat actor Nitish Bharadwaj announced separation post 12 years of marriage

The popular actor who beautifully essayed the role of Lord Krishna in the BR Chopra’s series ‘Mahabharat’ has announced separation from his wife Smita Gate after 12 years of marriage.

He had filed the divorce in the Mumbai Family court in 2019. His wife is Smita Gate who is an IAS officer from the Madhya Pradesh Cadre. The couple got married in 2009. The couple has two children Devayani and Shivaranjani and currently live with their mother in Indore.

This was Nitish’s second marriage and prior to this he was married to Monisha Patil who is a popular chef and an author residing in the UK. They got married in 1991 and got divorced in 2005.

The actor refrained to comment on the situation and about his role as a father, he mentioned that he believes in the institution of marriage has been the unlucky one so far. Nitish said that there can be several reasons for a marriage to end, however, it is the children who suffer the most.

The actor has also been seen in the web series on the life of PM Modi, the film Kedarnath that also featured Sara Ali Khan and Sushant Singh Rajput also the film Mohenjodaro that featured Hrithik Roshan.

Nitish is also working on projects in the Marathi language.
