Post the demise of the 34-year-old actor, Sushant Singh Rajput, Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan tweeted his condolence and remembered the actor’s generous donation during the Kerala floods of 2018.
In 2018, the state of Kerala was hit with severe floods which displaced several people as they lost their homes and belongings. Many even lost their lives in the floods. During that time, Sushant Singh Rajput made a contribution of Rs. 1 crore to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund. However, the actor did not take credit for that.
On one of his Instagram posts about the donation, one of his fans commented that he would wish to help the needy in the floods but didn’t know how to do it. Sushant replied to his comment by saying,
“I will donate 1 crore on your name, make sure that it reaches directly to our friends out there needing it and post it on my Instagram thanking you to make me do this. Thank you so much for wanting to do this.”

Kerala CM Remembers Sushant’s Gesture
The actor then donated 1 crore rupees on the name of his fan. This had won hearts back then and people are resharing it now to cherish the memories of the actor. The generous donation also encouraged his fans to donate to the relief fund. Remembering this, Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on Sunday tweeted,
“We are deeply saddened to hear of the death of Sushant Singh Rajput. His early demise is a great loss to the Indian Film Industry. Our heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, and supporters. We take a moment to remember his support during the time of Kerala floods.”

The actor passed away due to suicide on the 14th of June 2020. The actor was found hanging in his bedroom on Sunday morning which has left the world of Bollywood shocked. The actor’s demise has also brought back the discussion around mental health and the importance of it. The actor’s last theatrical release Chhichore garnered over 150 crores in the box office. The actor’s next release that is going to be his last one, Dil Bechara, is slated to release on an online platform.
