Days after Akshay Kumar received criticism for endorsing a tobacco brand, his ‘Sooryavanshi’ co-star Ajay Devgn has responded to the same and called it a “personal choice.”


“When you do something, you also see how harmful it would be. Some things are harmful, some are not. I would say it without naming it because I don’t want to promote it; I was doing Elaichi. What I feel is more than advertisements, if certain things are so wrong, then they should not be sold,” says Ajay Devgn After Being Criticized For the Ads.


Actor’s association with Vimal 

‘Runway 34’ actor has been associated with Vimal for several years. Shah Rukh joined as the brand ambassador last year and the two appeared in an ad together. Quite recently, the two again appeared together, welcoming Akshay’s entry as well.

Akshay’s ad however didn’t go well with his fans. Many fans and audiences criticized the actor’s move.


Akshay Kumar then took to his Twitter account to share an apology note that said he will be more mindful of his choices in the future.

After his statement, fans were happy that the actor admitted his mistake and made a public declaration. “We youth consider you as our idol, you don’t need any such ad like that,” said a fan in the comment section. Also, Akshay has pledged to donate his fee for the ad to a ‘worthy cause’.
