Government Takes Back Orders Regarding Lockdown Relaxation

Government of India has announced that the orders regarding relaxation of the lockdown from April 20th have been taken back.

PM Modi had announced lockdown extension to May 3rd

After the conclusion of the first phase of the lockdown on April 14th, PM Narendra Modi had announced that the lockdown would continue until the 3rd of May. PM Modi had also stated that the situation would be observed until April 20th, and if the situation improves, the Government would think of relaxing the lockdown norms in certain parts of the country.

In line with this, the Government of India had announced relaxation of a few norms across the country.

The orders have now been taken back

It has now been revealed that the orders regarding relaxation from April 20th have been taken back. While the lockdown would continue, the Government has allowed for travel in case of medical emergencies. The Government has also taken back the orders which had allowed the movement of two-wheelers across the nation.

Lockdown relaxation was announced across multiple sectors

While movement of vehicles, especially carrying goods had been announced, Two-Wheelers and Four-Wheelers were also given permission to be used, in non-Hotspot regions. A few sectors of industries, especially the ones that were involved in the manufacture of essential goods and agricultural activities were allowed. Even the IT Sector had been allowed to restart with a 50% workforce.
