Getting a job in the topmost tech companies like Google, Amazon, Facebook, and Apple is a dream come true for all the IIT professionals. And for most of the IIT students, it is a distant dream. But through his talent and intelligence, a Bangaluru-based boy KB Shyam has managed to break the glass ceiling and has become successful at bagging the most coveted spot at Google with a package of Rs.60 lakh per annum.
Landing Up Job Was Not Easy
It is not an easy thing to get such a lucrative job for anyone. For that, an individual has to successfully clear several rounds of interviews and then they get an appointment letter from the recruiter. The 22-YO Shyam who is a student of the International Institution of Information Technology Bangalore (IIT-B) recently completed a five-year dual degree course. Soon he will be flying off to Warsaw in Poland and join Google.
Originally from Chennai, Shyam first had to clear an online interview followed by an on-site interview at Munich, Germany. He also had to fulfill the team matching process for deciding his team in a span of five months. Only after the completion of all these levels, he was offered the position at Google.
Shyam says, “My work area will be Google cloud platform. Having good knowledge of computer science fundamentals and improving problem-solving skills will improve the chances of students who want to get into Google.” Shyam further added that taking part in the programming competitions really helped him to get prepared for the Google job interview.
Shyam Interned At Facebook Last Year
The Bengaluru-based student already got a taste of working with a tech giant when last year he interned with Facebook at the London office. Shyam’s internship was for a duration between May 2018 and August 2018. Prior to that, for getting admission to IIIT-B Shyam scored 95.2% marks in 12th class.
Google has always shown a keen interest in hiring top talent in the IT sector from India. Earlier this year, the tech-giant hired an engineering student from Mumbai. The 21-YO Abdullah Khan was spotted by Google on a website hosting programming challenges. The company hired him as a Site Reliability Engineer at a package of Rs.1.2 crore per annum.
In 2018, Google picked up an IIT-Mumbai student for its artificial intelligence team in New York. The 22-YO student was offered a package of Rs.1.2 crore per annum.
