Due To Surge In Coronavirus Cases, Rajasthan Seals It’s Borders For A Week

In the middle of a surge in coronavirus cases, the Government of Rajasthan took a strict action and ordered the sealing of all state borders for at least a week on Wednesday.

The state Director General of Police (Law and Order) ML Lather said in an order that all movements to and from the state will now be regulated by the police. Entry and the exit of a person will be prohibited in Rajasthan without a ‘No Objection Certificate’ (NOC) from the state authorities.

Needful orders in this regard have already been issued to all range Inspector Generals of Police, Superintendents of Police, Commissioners and Deputy Commissioners. Setting up of check posts at state borders immediately to monitor the movement of people is expected from the police for at least a week.

Check posts are also being put up at railway stations and airports. According to the concerned authorities, the passes for inter-state travel will be granted by District Collectors and SPs only in emergency cases like hospitalization or death.

COVID-19 situation in Rajasthan doesn’t seem to normalize. The count stands at 11,368, with 123 fresh cases reported on Wednesday morning. The state recorded one more death COVID-19 on Wednesday, taking the toll to 256. The patient passed away in Jodhpur.

Of the new cases reported on Wednesday, 40 were recorded in capital Jaipur, 34 in Bharatpur, 11 in Sikar, nine in Jhunjhunu, five in Nagaur, three in Kota and two in Alwar, besides cases in other districts, said officials.
