We have been giving you all the updates of the film Devaki and we have another update today. The film has a release date, finally. Director Lohith confirmed that the film will release on the 5th of July.
We have learned that Karthik Gowda of KGF fame will be distributing the film all over Karnataka. Karthik has paid a certain Non-recoverable advance (NRA) and acquired the distribution rights of the film. The NRA is a game changer for a producer. The producer recovers the money through advance payments in the distribution deals prior to the release of the film. In case, the film bombs, the producer need not refund the amount to the distributor due to the NRA clause.
The Film is Being Lauded For Its Raw-Making Style
Filmmakers including Puri Jaggannath have watched the teaser and have liked it reportedly. The film is being lauded for its take on the subject and the raw making style. Venu has donned the hat of a Cinematographer while Nobin Paul has given the music.
A couple of weeks back, the film had received a U/A certificate from the censors and now with the distribution deal, the team of Devaki is riding high on positivity.
The Second-Most Awaited Indian Film on IMDB
Devaki created a wave across social media by becoming the second most awaited Indian film on IMDB. The film is set against the backdrop of Human Trafficking which is one of the most heinous crimes to have hit the country since a decade. The film is extensively shot in the city of Kolkata. A lot of native Bengali actors have been cast for the Bengali roles in the film.
The film also marks to the debut of Aishwarya Upendra, the daughter of Upendra of Priyanka Upendra. With I Love You and Devaki releasing soon, the mood in the family must be pretty joyous.
The trailer of Devaki will be attached to the Upendra starrer I Love You which is all set to release. This is the second directorial of Mr. Lohith who has earlier directed the horror film Mummy which went onto become a hit at the box office. The expectations of Devaki is huge.
