Ayodhya Municipal Corporation will purchase winter coats for the cows staying in different shelters within the holy city. The Yogi Adityanath government on Sunday announced to provide coats for cows to keep them warm during winter.
Winter coats for the cows in Ayodhya
With winter growing day by day, the government has decided to buy jute coats for the cows staying in different shelters in Ayodhya.
However, developments are underway to provide coats to cows, bulls, and calves at various shelters. The municipal corporation has chosen to buy jute coats for cows, costing around Rs 250 to 300 per piece.
“We are in the process of getting the cow coats offered. This project will be implemented in three-four stages. First, we are beginning with Baishingpur cow shelter, which houses around 1,200 cattle including 700 bulls and the rest being cows and calves. We have initially placed an order for 100 cow coats for the calves,” said, Niraj Shukla, Nagar Nigam Commissioner of Ayodhya.
“Three-layer coats for the calves are being prepared. We have asked for the use of soft clothes for the calves in the inner layer apart from the jute which gives warmth to the body.”
“The cow shelter will also have a bonfire to save the cows from extreme coldness. Paddy straw will be placed on the floor to provide warmness to the cattle if they choose to sit.”
There is no need says Congress
This decision has drawn a lot of criticism from Congress as they question the move when lakhs of government school students have still not been provided free sweaters. The delivery of sweaters to 1.57 crore schoolchildren in 1.6 lakh government schools across the states should have been finished by October 31 but it is still under process.
Protesting the government’s move, Congress spokesperson and Uttar Pradesh Congress Committee (UPCC) media in-charge Rajiv Tyagi said, “The BJP government has failed to provide sweaters to school children but is now talking about providing coats to cows. This is ‘new India’.”
https://t.co/9fkNnnOHZZ
