Writer and Author Chetan Bhagat has come out in support of Sushant Singh Rajput’s family. He also called Kangana Ranaut a braver person than him.
In an interview to the Times Now, Chetan Bhagat opened up about his views on the death of Sushant Singh Rajput and said,
“They broke him, the media reports broke him. It mattered to him when they called him a TV actor. When you have allegations that he had done things to women without consent that is devastating for a man.”
Chetan Bhagat has also pointed out that the blind items written about Sushant Singh Rajput may have affected the actor along with the #MeToo allegations. He also questioned whether the person who wrote the blind items is still continuing to write. He said,
“The same stars who talk about mental health all day are giving interviews to this filmy journalist.”
‘He Revived My Career’
Further, Chetan Bhagat also credited Sushant Singh Rajput and Abhishek Kapoor for reviving his career in the Hindi film industry. He said,
“No one wanted to produce Kai Po Che as it was based on Godhra riots in Gujarat. Then Abhishek decided that we will get newcomers in the film. But even for Sushant, it was a very risky move as it wasn’t a love story or there was no lead in particular.”
There were four books of Chetan Bhagat that have been made into films in Bollywood. The first movie that was based on Bhagat’s book was Salman Khan’s Hello. The film is based on the book ‘One Night At A Call Center’. Further, Bhagat’s ‘Five Point Someone’ was taken as an inspiration for the blockbuster film ‘3 Idiots’. Later, his two books ‘Three Mistakes of My Life’ and ‘Half Girlfriend’ were made into ‘Kai Po Che’ and ‘Half Girlfriend’ respectively.
