Tussle With Mumbai Police
In the past few weeks, Republic TV anchor Arnab Goswami has been involved in a tussle with the Maharashtra government and the Mumbai Police in many cases like the Palghar lynching, the Sushant Singh Rajput case, and the demolition of Kangana Ranaut’s house. On November 4th, Arnab Goswami was arrested from his residence by the Mumbai Police for a suicide abetment case of 2018 that was reopened recently. The bail plea of Arnab Goswami was appealed in the Bombay High Court which has reserved its hearing as of now.
The case where Goswami was arrested pertains to the suicide of an architect and interior designer Anvay Naik and his mother because of the non-payment of dues by firms. In the suicide note of Anvay Naik, he said he was forced to take his life because he was not paid the dues worth Rs. 5.40 crores by three people. Earlier this year, the Maharashtra government ordered the reinvestigation of the case by the CID.
