The Bollywood films were lined up this year with some inspiring stories which include Manikarnika, Accidental Prime Minister, a biopic on late Shiv Sena supremo Bal Thackeray, military-action film Uri: The Surgical Strike. However, biopics are an important part of Bollywood as it not only gives us a riveting story but also inspires and gives us an insight into the life of a person who existed or is there in real life. However, the Bollywood looks to continue its biopic saga, as Karan Johar announced that he would be working on a biopic based on Kargil War hero Captain Vikram Batra starring Sidharth Malhotra and Kiara Advani.

Now it seems Karan Johar has announced his next biopics title with Sidharth Malhotra and Kiara Advani which is going to be Shershaah. It is an inspiring story of Captain Vikram Batra, an Indian Army officer who was martyred in the Kargil War at the age of 24. The two popular celebrities Sidharth Malhotra and Kiara Advani are sharing the screens together for Karan Johar’s Shershaah. However, Karan Johar shared this message through Twitter to make the big announcement. In addition, he also revealed that the shooting of the film was soon about to begin.

The team will begin shooting between the first week of May in Chandigarh, followed by Palampur, which is Batra’s hometown. Moreover, the film will be shot in North India for 70 days across the regions of Chandigarh, Palampur, Kashmir, and Ladakh.
Captain Vikram is Batra one of the brave army officers who had fought in the Kargil War in June 1999 in the Dras sub-sector and was instrumental in the capture of Point 5140 on the Tololing Ridge leading to Tiger Hill. Besides, he led one of the toughest operations in mountain warfare in Indian history. He was often referred to as ‘’Sher Shah” in the intercepted messages of the Pakistan Army.
