The Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi is to feature in a special episode of Man vs Wild, a nature survival show by Bear Grylls. From revealing how he used to create bathing salts from dew in his young days to his encounters with wildlife as a young man and sending postcards across the country celebrating the first rains, the PM will relate first-hand experiences from his real-life in discussion with the host.
Modi Emphasizes On Environmental Conversation
During his discussion with the host of the show Bear Grylls, Modiji also expressed his deep interest in environmental conservation and the need to respect nature. When Grylls points out how dangers in the wild are lurking around, Modi says, “We should not take this place as a danger zone. When we go against nature then everything becomes dangerous; human beings to become dangerous. On the other hand, if we co-operate with nature, then she also co-operates with us.”
In the latter part of the discussion, Grylls hands an improvised version of a spear to PM Modi as a protection against a possible attack from a tiger lurking around. PM surprises him by replying, “My upbringing does not allow me to take a life. However, I will hold on it (the spear) since you insist!”
People Of India Should Keep The Country Clean
While elaborating on the “Clean India Movement” during the discussion, the Prime Minister said, “Someone from outside cannot clean my India, the people of India make India clean. Personal hygiene is in the culture of the Indian people. We need to develop the habit of social hygiene. Mahatma Gandhi has done a lot of work on it and recently we are getting good success in this. I believe India will succeed in this very soon.”
The entire episode will air across 12 Discovery network channels on August 12 at 9 pm in eight languages.
