As Kantara is emerging as one of the biggest hits of the year, it has replaced Thank God and Ram Setu in several multiplexes, further bolstering the presence of the South Indian film industry in the North.
Thank God And Ram Setu Are Getting Replaced
Bollywood movies like Thank God and Ram Setu are getting replaced by Kannada film Kantara in several multiplexes and is now getting more shows each day. Once again, Bollywood has failed to deliver and even the presence of Akshay Kumar and Ajay Devgn couldn’t do much to improve the business of Ram Setu and Thank God, respectively.
Amidst the ongoing discussion between bad content and lack of creativity in Bollywood, the Rishab Shetty starrer Kantara, dubbed in Hindi, has confidentially replaced the other two big Diwali releases at theatres.
The Pan India success
The Pan India success of Kantara has further put a question mark on how things have been done in Bollywood. There were some attempts on social media to debunk the sensational hit Katara by propagating a narrative that it’s not “Hindu enough,” but nothing really worked for the attackers, and now the film has emerged as a remarkable success story.
Meanwhile, Bollywood can learn a lot from the success of this Kannada film, which once again brings up the point that content is king. As far as business is concerned, Kantara’s dubbed Hindi version has already raked in Rs 45 crores in three weeks. This, of course, is in addition to the 250-plus crores, the movie has already earned 140 cr in the original Kannada language.
