“Audiences are responsible for encouraging Nepotism”: Nani makes Bold Comments

Telugu Superstar Rana Daggubati spoke about the pressure on a star kid to live up to their parents’ expectations whereas Nani explained how nepotism is also promoted by the audience.

Discussions over nepotism will stay as long as star kids keep joining the film industry. In the episode of SonyLIV’s talk show Nijam With Smita, featuring Nani and Rana Daggubati, the topic of nepotism came up for discussion. While Nani is an outsider, who made a name for himself in the industry, the Bahubaali actor carries the legacy of the Akkineni-Daggubati family. Rana has now opened up on his thoughts about nepotism with Nani also giving his two cents on the subject.

In the show, Nani makes a statement about how audiences are responsible for encouraging nepotism. He compared the market of his and Ram Charan’s movies and said, “One lakh people will watch Nani’s first film, while one crore people will watch Charan’s first movie.”

Daggubati’s take on nepotism

On the other hand, Rana Daggubati opined that it is a mark of pride to carry the legacy of your parents, and failing in the task would be a disservice to them. He said, “If you can’t carry on your parents’ achievements and legacy, then you’re doing a disservice to your family.”

For the unversed, Rana Daggubati hails from the popular Telugu Daggubati family with his father being a renowned producer whereas superstar Venkatesh Daggubati is his uncle.

On the work front, Rana and Venkatesh will be sharing screen space in the web show Rana Naidu which will stream on Netflix from March 10. Whereas, Nani is gearing up for the release of his pan-India film Dasara, co-starring Keerthy Suresh which is slated to release in multiple languages on March 30.
