Arnab Goswami Goes Hard On Times Now And India Today. Republic Claims To Be No.1 Channel

Republic Media Network today claimed that the news channel has emerged as number 1, in the latest BARC TRP ratings released on Thursday. With this, the Republic Tv’s Editor-in-chief, Arnab Goswami has a message for his team and Aaj Tak, Times Now. Here is what he said.

Arnab goes hard on competitors

According to the Republic Tv, the channel is 200% greater than its closest competitor in the English news genre with a widespread viewership share of 44%. As per the Broadcast Audience Research Council (BARC) ratings, in terms of viewership, the publication revealed that Republic TV is 200% greater than Times Now, 270% greater than India Today, and 330% greater than CNN News18.

As Republic TV maintained its top position with record numbers, Arnab Goswami gave a solid message to the competitors who targetted and plotted against the channel and Arnab over the past year.

“If you see the viewership of all three channels together- Republic TV, Republic Bharat, and Republic Bangla, I am happy to say that Republic Network is India’s number one news network,” said Arnab Goswami.

“Remember all that happened with us. Remember this, Times Now and India Today, we never forgive and never forget,” said Arnab.

An important message

Taking a dig on Times Now, which is his previous channel, Arnab said, “Times Now lost all its viewership the day I left. They tried dirty tricks, and they have lost again. People are angry with Times Now for lying about Republic. Only if they apologize to Republic will people forgive them. BARC viewership proves Republic is the unchallenged #1 across India.”

Going further in his address about the magnificent performance of Republic TV local channels, he said, “Aaj Tak has lost the number one position. Are you who has gained the most? It is the one and only Republic Bharat. Republic Bangla is 230% the viewership of Zee24- historic viewership in the Bengal market!”

The BARC ratings for the news genre were released after a gap of almost one and a half years. Previously, BARC had temporarily paused the reporting of individual channel audience estimates for all News channels on October 15, 2020
