A 24-YO PV Sindhu Creates History, Becomes First Indian To Win BWF World Championship

PV Sindhu drew off a brilliant victory against Nozomi Okuhara to claim the final trophy. She becomes the first Indian shuttler ever to win the World Championships title and also the second player ever to win five World Championship medals.

She earned the title of world champion by beating the 2017 winner Nozomi Okuhara. Japnese player Nozomi Okuhara couldn’t resist the attack of India’s Sindhu. Since the start of the match, the Japnese girl seemed frustrated and couldn’t hold on for longer.

PV Sindhu pulled off a sparkling 21-7, 21-7 victory against Okuhara and clinched the BWF World Championship title.
