Vijay Deverakonda believes Liger would make more than Rs 200 crore in theatres. His old tweet is now going viral on social media.
Liger tanks at the BO
Vijay Deverakonda and Ananya Pandey’s Bollywood movie Liger was released on 25th Aud and the movie has definitely not managed to impress the audience. The movie has been receiving poor reviews from critics and even the netizens are not entirely impressed with the action flick.
In terms of numbers, Liger box office collections are lower than what industry experts expected them to be. Amidst negative reviews and low collections, an old tweet of Vijay Deverakonda has been going viral.
The overconfidence
Before the release of the movie, there were reports that the makers of Liger were offered Rs. 200 crores by an OTT platform. Vijay reacted to the same and claimed that his movie will make much more than that when it releases in theatres. He wrote, “Too little. I’ll do more in the theaters.”

Meanwhile, when asked if the Arjun Reddy actor would like to do more Bollywood films, he told Indian Today, “I’m in no hurry to sign films. Right now, I’m so busy promoting the film and I want to enjoy the process of promoting, meeting people, talking to people, traveling the country, and eating food. I am in no mind space to look at work beyond Liger right now. So once Liger is done, I’ll take some time and listen to stuff and then figure out what I want.”
Liger has managed to collect Rs 45 crore worldwide and most of it was collected from the Telugu version of the movie. Vijay stars as the titular MMA fighter boxer alongside Ananya Panday, Ramya Krishna, and Ronit Roy in pivotal roles. American boxer Mike Tyson plays an extended cameo in the movie.
