SIIMA Awards 2021 Nominations: Roberrt, Garuda Gamana, Yuvaratnaa Included

Pushpa: The Rise (Telugu), Karnan (Tamil), Roberrt (Kannada), and Minnal Murali (Malayalam) are leading the SIIMA nominations. The 10th Edition of SIIMA Event will be held in Bengaluru on 10th and 11th September 2022.

South Indian International Movie Awards, popularly known as SIIMA Awards, are the top awards that are given for the artistic and technical achievements of the South Indian film Industry. This event is the largest and the most viewed film awards show in South India and enjoys over 50% television reach across the South Indian region.

For the South Indian film industry 2021 has been a standard year with movies like Pushpa: The Rise, Karnan, Minnal Murali, Akhanda, Thalaivii, Master, Maanadu, Sarpetta Parambarai, Uppena, Roberrt, Garuda Gamana, Yuvaratnaa,  and Doctor getting national recognition along with commercial success in the respective languages.

Brinda Prasad Adusumilli, Chairperson of SIIMA has announced SIIMA Nominations for the films released in 2021 in the 4 South Indian Languages. The winners are chosen by an online voting system.

In Kannada D-Boss Darshan’s action drama Roberrt has been nominated in 10 categories. The film, which was one of the biggest hits of 2021, was written and directed by Tharun Sudhir. Filmmaker-actor Raj B Shetty’s critically acclaimed gangster movie Garuda Gamana Vrishabha Vahana has 8 nominations, while director Santhosh Ananddram’s Yuvaratnaa, starring late movie icon Puneeth Rajkumar, has 7 nominations.

In Telugu ‘Pushpa: The Rise’ directed by Sukumar and starring Allu Arjun with 12 Nominations is leading while Akhanda starring Balakrishna and directed by Boyapati Srinu with 10 Nominations is in the second position. Uppena & Jathi Ratnalu with 8 Nominations each are sharing the third position.

In Tamil Mari Selvaraj’s Karnan starring Dhanush is leading with 10 nominations while Doctor Sivakarthikeyan and directed by Nelson with 9 Nominations is at the second position. Master and Thalaivii with 7 Nominations each are sharing the third position.

In Malayalam ‘Minnal Murali’ directed by Basil Joseph starring Tovino Thomas is leading with 10 Nominations while Kurup Starring Dulquer Salman and Directed by Srinath Rajendran with 8 Nominations, is in the second position. Malik and directed by Mahesh Narayan and Joji directed by Dileesh Pothan both starring Fahad Fasil with 6 Nominations each are sharing the third position.

The award distribution ceremony will be held on September 10 and 11 in Bengaluru.
