Mahesh Babu’s ‘Pokiri’ Special Show Creates History, To Be Released In 100+ Theaters

Superstar Mahesh Babu’s blockbuster movie Pokiri is re-releasing in a record number of theaters across the globe. Fans are quite excited and pleased to watch the remastered version of the film, directed by the dashing director Puri Jagannadh.

Fans of actor Mahesh Babu have arranged special screenings of the actor’s superhit film ‘Pokiri’ to be released all over the world on his birthday on August 9. The movie will be shown in a remastered 4K Ultra HD format, making them the first Telugu film to be released in this format.

As the theatrical release date of this crime drama is fast approaching, the number of screens are expected to rise further in the next few days. For now, the movie will be released on 135 plus screens across the twin Telugu states.

Revenue donation

This is an all-time record for any special show and the huge response proved the ultimate craze of Mahesh Babu. Meanwhile, the reports are coming that the entire revenue of the Pokiri special show will be given for donation. The proceeds from such screenings will go towards funding the education and heart operations of children being carried out by the Mahesh Babu foundation.

Pokiri was released on April 28th, 2006. The Puri Jagannadh directorial not only showed Mahesh as a powerful cop, but it also redefined heroism in Tollywood and went on to set an all-time industry hit upon its release. The film also stars Ileana D’Cruz and Prakash Raj in lead roles. Mahesh’s sister Manjula had produced the film, while Manisharma composed the soundtrack.
