The prices of commercial LPG cylinders have been increased significantly. This is the second time the price has changed within a month.
Price Hike commercial cylinders
The prices of 19 kg commercial LPG have been increased by Rs 250 per cylinder effective from Friday. With this, the 19 kg commercial cooking gas will now cost a whopping Rs 2,253. Previously, the commercial LPG was increased by Rs 105 on March 1.
However, there has been no increase in the prices of domestic gas cylinders reported.
Last week, the price of domestic cooking gas (LPG) was hiked by Rs 50 per cylinder. A 14.2-kg LPG cylinder is costing Rs 949.50 from March 22 onwards.
To be noted, fuel prices continue to skyrocket with petrol and diesel rates rising by another 80 paise per liter each on Thursday, earning an increase of about Rs 6.40 a liter in nine revisions in 10 days so far.
Today, even on the first day of the new financial year, domestic LPG cylinders are available for ₹949.50 in Delhi, ₹976 in Kolkata, ₹949.50 in Mumbai, and ₹965.50 in Chennai.
Congress protest
Yesterday, several opposition parties, including Congress, have been bashing the government over the surge in prices of petrol and diesel.
The grand old party launching its three-phase campaign – ‘Mehngai-mukt Bharat Abhiyaan’ said, “We had predicted that as soon as elections in five states will conclude, the fuel prices will be hiked. We demand that fuel prices be rolled back. The government cannot understand the difficulties being faced by the public because of the rise.”

“In the last 10 days, petrol and diesel price have been increased nine times. We demand that the rising prices should be brought to normal. The Congress is holding nationwide protests on this issue today,” said Rahul Gandhi leading a protest with some Congress MPs.
