The Kapil Sharma Show is famous not only because of ‘Kappu Sharma’ that is Kapil but also by the most famous faces on it. They all have done their best to make the audience ‘laugh out loud’ but what made them exit midway, leading to controversies? Let’s find out.
Sunil Grover
As we all know Sunil Grover and Kapil Sharma had a nasty fight with each other during the Australia tour in 2017. It is reported that Kapil verbally abused and assaulted Sunil in the flight, which led to the latter’s exit from the show. Grover earned his fame by performing the characters like Dr. Mashoor Gulati and Guthi, which were loved by the audience. Many times there were rumors of Grover returning to the show, however, the actor never made an appearance again.
Upasana Singh
All the TKS fans will remember ‘Bua’ which was performed by Upasana Singh. Her witty jokes made us laugh our hearts out. However, ‘Bua’ has been missing from Kapil’s show for a long time now.
After being asked about the exit, Upasna said that they (Kapil and Upasana) never had differences. She said, “I did a few episodes with Kapil but I wanted to do something creatively, rather being on the show for only a few minutes. But in the future, if Kapil brings me a role that will justify my talent and creativity then that will be a great contract. For now, I don’t want to work because I have to do something on television.”
Ali Asgar
Ali Asgar, who performed an important role like ‘daadi’ and different characters on the show, left after the mid-air brawl between Kapil and Sunil, and never returned.
In an interview, he said that he had creative differences with Kapil and the team and therefore, he quit the show. “We worked there for the lengthiest period, but after a certain point, there was a time when I thought that I should move from the show. My character wasn’t going anywhere and I felt there was no scope for innovative improvement,” said Ali Asgar.
Sugandha Mishra
A teacher as we all know, Sugandha Mishra had a unique hairstyle but her journey with Kapil’s show ended after the mid-air rift between Kapil and Sunil. In an interview, Sugandha had said, “After Sunil Grover Ji left, there were lots of modifications that happened. And we were not contacted again. It was all going well and I feel my journey with the show concluded without a clue.”
Navjot Singh Sidhu
All the Shayris and laughter, Navjot Singh Sidhu lived in a different world while sitting as a special guest of Kapil’s show. The cricketer-turned-politician made a controversial remark regarding Pakistan after the Pulwama attack in 2019. This attracted intense criticism and a request was raised on social media to boycott The Kapil Sharma Show and Sidhu.
This led to his removal from the show and was later replaced by Archana Puran Singh, who is famously known for being a judge in Comedy Circus.
Speaking on it Navjot Singh Sidhu had tweeted, “For a handful of people, can you blame the entire nation and can you blame an individual? It (the attack) is a cowardly act and I condemn it. Violence is always blameworthy and those who did it must be punished.”
Bharthi Singh
Bharti Singh has performed diverse characters on The Kapil Sharma Show but, the 37-year-old went missing due to her other work commitments. The comedian is often noticed hosting reality shows with her husband Haarsh Limbachiyaa, but other than that, she is hardly seen on television shows.
