The news of MS Dhoni’s 5-year-old daughter Ziva receiving rape threats on social media has left everyone disgusted. A teenager had allegedly issued rape threats to Ziva on mother Sakshi’s Instagram account after three-time IPL champions Chennai Super Kings lost a match to Kolkata Knight Riders in the ongoing IPL 2020. CSK fans got so disappointed that they indulged in all sorts of trolling.

A case had been registered at the Ratu police station in Ranchi a few days back, in regard to this matter. Today, the police nabbed a 16-year-old student from the Mundra region of Gujarat. He has reportedly “confessed” to posting those distasteful comments against Ziva on Instagram.

While many are applauding police’s swift action in the case, actor R Madhavan also took to Twitter to pen a rather furious note against people indulging in online abuse. “Police Great job .. time to clamp down and put the fear of law and god on these faceless monsters who think they can do and say what they want on the internet. Even if they are teens”, tweeted the actor.

Following the incident, security had reportedly been beefed up outside MS Dhoni’s farmhouse in Ranchi, where his daughter and wife are currently staying. Patrolling had also increased in the said area and a special squad was deployed to deal with any emergency situation. The incident sparked massive outrage on social media with people calling out the toxic online abuse and trolling.

Dhoni is currently in Dubai leading the Chennai Super Kings in IPL 2020. His team has been underperforming this year and has lost five of their first seven games of the season. This is the reason why Dhoni, the captain of the team, and his family are being subjected to heavy trolling on social media.

The cricketer is yet to issue an official statement over this issue. However, many celebrities, politicians, fans have taken to social media to react to this shameful act.

Here’s hoping that people start showing some sense of responsibility on social media and not spit venom against each other. This is just one of the many instances of celebrities or any public figure falling prey to trolls.
