Bengaluru International Airport Limited (BIAL) and Virgin Hyperloop have signed an MoU to conduct a feasibility study for a proposed hyperloop corridor from BLR Airport. If this comes to fruition, then we could travel from the Kempegowda International Airport to the City Center in just ten minutes.

Regarding the association, Sultan bin Sulayem, Chairman of Virgin Hyperloop said: “We are honored to partner with Bangalore International Airport Limited to explore ways in which hyperloop can become a part of the solution to tackle congestion and support economic growth in Bengaluru.”
He added: “Beyond just the transit of passengers, airports are a crucial conduit for goods, especially time-sensitive deliveries. A hyperloop-connected airport would dramatically improve the delivery of cargo and create an ultra-efficient supply chain.”
Hyperloop will be additional to suburb rail and metro
Apart from a well-established road network, the State Government is now focussing on suburban rail and metro network to the Airport. Hyperloop will be on top of these three modes. TM Vijay Bhaskar, Chief Secretary, Government of Karnataka and Chairman of the Board of Directors, BIAL, said: “The Government of Karnataka has implemented several measures to improve the transport infrastructure of the State. The commissioning of a feasibility study for hyperloop connectivity from BLR Airport is another major step towards building the infrastructure required to define mobility for the future, enabling the efficient movement of people.”
The feasibility studies would be split into two phases, each of six months each. As per the initial analysis, with a speed of 1080 kmph, this project could transport thousands of passengers from the airport to the city center in ten minutes.
