Kannada popular rapper Chandan Shetty released his new song ‘Kolumande’ which met with a lot of appreciation. However, there has been severe backlash too for twisting the history and hurting religious sentiments.

The song that has over 30 lakh views in under 3 days has landed the rapper in trouble. However, the rapper has come out and apologized for hurting the sentiments of people. He said,

“We have been brought to the notice that there has been a mistake. I want to apologize on behalf of the entire team. We did not intend to hurt the sentiments of people of any community and religion. We did this song with good intentions. I agree we have made a mistake in filming it. For that, I want to apologize. But in lyrics, I have not twisted any history. We have made this song with the help of folk singers.”

The rapper agreed that he and his team have made a mistake in filming the song and offered an unconditional apology. He further said,

“We have made a mistake by portraying Neelayya doubting Sankamma. If any of you have problems with this, I would like to apologize to you. We have made this with good intentions. The song is performing well in various countries also. I appeal to the people of Chamarajanagar and the folk singers. We need your support. We have made one mistake. Please forgive us. We will rectify the images that have raised an objection.”

The rapper took to the social media platform to put his apology. The rapper has been famous in the last few years for his individual songs and for his compositions in the movies. He is also believed to be one of the first few rappers to have burst into the scene. He also appeared on the reality show Big Boss.
