In a shocking admission, former Aam Aadmi Party councilor Tahir Hussain who was named as accused in the murder of an Intelligence Bureau officer has confessed to being the mastermind behind the Delhi riots.
The Special Investigation Team of the Delhi Police had claimed that Tahir Hussain had admitted to being the mastermind of the riots that happened in Delhi during the month of February. As per a report in Zee news, the Aam Aadmi Party councilor who has now been suspended has revealed his role during the interrogation. He also revealed that he wanted to teach Hindus a lesson using his power in politics and financial power. The riots happened on the brink of the protest against the Citizenship Amendment Act.
Hussain Names Others
As per the report by Zee News, Tahir Hussain also revealed that he received help from Khalid Saifi, Umar Khalid, Ishrat Jahan, and the member of Popular Front of India member Danish. Hussain was reportedly agitated with the abrogation of the controversial Article 370 and the verdict of the Supreme Court ruling in favor of Ram Temple in Ayodhya. The center passing the Citizenship Amendment Act was the final thing that made him do this.
Hussain has also been named as an accused in the murder of the Intelligence Bureau staff whose body was later pulled out of a drain in the area of Chand Bagh. He had almost 30 stab wounds.
The North East Delhi riots witnessed over 50 killings and 200 injured during the violent communal riots that rocked the national capital. The clashes broke out on the 24th of February when the two groups supporting and opposing the Citizenship Amendment Act. There are over 690 registered cases in the matter.
