On Friday, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra alleged that the Uttar Pradesh government of threatening her for speaking the truth. She went onto say that she is the granddaughter of Indira Gandhi and not an undeclared BJP spokesperson.
The statements of the Congress leader came after the Uttar Pradesh Child rights panel issued a notice to her regarding a misleading comment she had made about the Kanpur shelter home. She was asked to file her reply in three days.
On Sunday, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra wrote a post on her Facebook and slammed the BJp government in Uttar Pradesh for a media report that claimed that two girls were found pregnant in the state-run shelter home in Kanpur. She wrote saying that facts were suppressed in the name of investigation. On Friday, she wrote on Twitter,
“As a servant of the people, my duty is towards the people of Uttar Pradesh. And this duty is to put out the truth before them and not to put forth government propaganda. The Uttar Pradesh government is wasting its time by threatening me through its various departments. They can take whatever action they want, I will keep putting forth the truth. I am Indira Gandhi’s granddaughter not an undeclared BJP spokesperson like some of the opposition leaders.”
Priyanka Gandhi Repeatedly Attacks UP Govt
This statement of hers comes after the Agra administration urged her to withdraw her claims of the high number of coronavirus deaths in the district. Priyanka Gandhi Vadra was assigned as the general secretary in-charge of the Uttar Pradesh East. She accused the Yogi Aditya Nath government of pushing their propaganda even during the times of pandemic.
This week, she attacked the Uttar Pradesh government again for a high COVID-19 mortality rate in the district of Agra and criticized the government’s handling of the pandemic. Uttar Pradesh is currently at the 5th place of worst-affected states with 20,913 cases. With 13,119 recoveries, the state currently has 6,463 active cases and 611 deaths. The district of Agra has 1,164 cases so far. Gautam Buddha Nagar is the worst-affected district with 1,811 cases followed by Ghaziabad with 1,175 cases. The least affected district is Lalitpur with 6 cases.
