The Sushant Singh Rajput’s death attracted a ton of outrage against filmmaker and producer Karan Johar of promoting nepotism in the industry. He was also accused of being the reason for Sushant’s death.
Sushant’s death has caused massive outrage on Twitter and other social media platforms. The outrage has largely been directed towards star kids and those who promote star kids often. Unfortunately for Karan Johar, he has been in the receiving end of the criticism since he has become a “poster boy” of nepotism in the industry after Kangana Ranaut first called him out.
Since the allegations have been leveled against him, Karan has refrained from speaking out. He hasn’t issued any clarification for the allegation nor has put out his side of the story. Social media continues to troll the producer. Even his protégés Alia Bhatt and Varun Dhawan were targeted.
Recently, Karan Johar unfollowed many accounts on his social media and now follows only 8 people. The reports that are coming in now suggests that Johar has quit the Mumbai Academy of Mumbai Images (MAMI) board. This hasn’t been confirmed yet. However, it is also being said that Johar has decided to quit the board for not getting enough support from the Industry people. He has reportedly submitted his resignation to the artistic director of the film festival Kiran Rao.
However, the current Chairperson of the Mumbai Academy of Moving Images board, Deepika Padukone is trying to convince Johar to reverse his decision. The board has other filmmakers such as Zoya Akhtar, Kabir Khan, Siddharth Roy Kapur, Vikramaditya Motwane, and Rohan Sippy.
