On Tuesday, Karnataka reported a total of 63 cases, the highest-ever single-day record for the state since the onset of the pandemic. Kolar, Yadgir and Hassan, three districts which had not yet reported any cases so far, have registered cases today.
Bengaluru the worst-affected in the state
Among the 63 cases, 4 belong to Bengaluru Urban, the worst-hit district in the state. As per the latest reports, 182 cases have been reported in the capital city, although, around 50% of the patients have already recovered from the infection. Belagavi is the second-most affected city with 113 cases.
Total cases in the state stand at 925
Although the state had managed to flatten the curve to an extent, in recent days, there has been a rise in the number of cases. The total number of the cases in Karnataka are 925 at the moment, with 433 patients discharged and 31 deaths reported.
Tuesday’s 63 cases comprise of 15 cases reported from Bagalkote, 12 from Davanagere, 9 from Dharwad, 3 from Gadag, 5 each from Hassan and Kolar districts, and 2 each from Bidar and Yadgir. Ballari, Mandya, Chikkaballapura, Kalaburagi all reported one case each. As mentioned earlier, Bengaluru reported 4 cases today.
While the contacts of all the cases have been traced, one case each in Belagavi and Bengaluru, along with 2 patients from Kolar do not have a travel or contact history. The process of tracing is happening. All the other cases reported today have a relevant travel or contact history.
