In a video message by Sonia Gandhi today, the Congress President assured that whether in power or not, her party will help people fight against the outbreak of COVID-19.
Congress releases video-message after Modiji’s speech
Speaking in Hindi, Sonia Gandhi said:
“Today, when the country is fighting such a big battle, every Congress worker understands his responsibility and is always ready to help every warrior in this fight. Anyone can ask for our support at the State-level or at the central control room and every Congress worker will support you.”
The Congress President assured that her party will be at the forefront in helping people fight the pandemic. She added:
“I assure you that whether the Congress party is in power or in opposition, we will stand by you anywhere in this battle. I am confident that, with high morale, we will emerge from this crisis very soon. You stay at home and be safe.”
Sonia Gandhi also praised the work of professionals from the health sector and other sections involved in fighting the outbreak:
“Today, your support in dealing with the crisis due to coronavirus is no less patriotism. The country is able to fight this virus only because of your help and support. I do not have words to thank you.”
“This fight will weaken without your support, and we should not allow this to happen. At someplace, I hear reports about the ill-treatment meted out to doctors. This is wrong. Our culture and tradition does not allow this and we should support them,” she said. She also lauded the work done by some people at the individual level in supporting the poor in providing them food, ration, and sanitizers.“
She finished her speech by saying:
“Every Indian is fighting this battle and fulfilling his or her duty.“
PM Modi had earlier announced the extension of lockdown
This morning, at 10 am, PM Modi announced that the lockdown would continue until the 3rd of May in view of the COVID-19 outbreak.
