Shashi Tharoor who happens to be a grammar magician has described the Maharastra politics in his own way. With recent developments in Maharastra, Tharoor bestowed a new word in social media to describe BJP’s ill practice to form a government in Maharastra.
Zugzwang and the game of chess
The MP from Thiruvananthapuram, with recent developments in Maharastra, has called it to be a political inequity. BJP’s Devendra Fadnavis and NCP’s Ajit Pawar government formation was nothing but a biased act. Describing the situation, Mr. Tharoor termed it as Zugzwang.
Zugzwang- a situation in which the obligation to make a move in one’s turn is a serious, often decisive, disadvantage. Or a situation where a player is forced to make a move that weakens his position.
After all its politics
Shashi Tharoor writes in a tweet, “Zugzwang. A situation in chess&other games where a player is compelled to move, forcing him into a weaker position. A player is said to be “in zugzwang” when any possible move will worsen their position. In-game theory changes a win to a loss.”

The Supreme Court on Tuesday announced a verdict where they ordered Fadnavis administration to face a floor test by 5 pm by the next day. Pulling out on conditions, the court also asked to make it a live telecast with no secret ballot. It was then, Fadnavis arrived before TV cameras and declared that Ajit Pawar had quit. Pawar’s leaving, he explained, had seized his government of a majority.
Defining the whole situation as a chess game, Shashi Tharoor in his part evoked BJP of a checkmate.

Best applicable to Shiv Sena. Any move for CM post is now destroying their party. Public are already furious on them. Well played opponent BJP! ??
