North Karnataka floods: Sudha Murthy Donates Rs 10 Crore To the Flood Relief Fund

Several districts in northern Karnataka is witnessing the ruinous face of nature. Till now around 237 villages are victims of this nature cataclysm and the dire has just not finished yet. In the meantime, the chairperson of Infosys Sudha Murthy has yet again shown a philanthropic gesture to the flood victims in North Karnataka. The 68-year-old Padma Shri winner has donated Rs 10 crore for flood relief in the state.

Sudha Murthy donates 10 crores to flood relief fund

Since 3 days the state is been flooding due to constant rain, destroying almost everything coming on its way. The state government has issued a red alert in many parts of the state. Till now, 28,880 people have been evacuated from 51 flood-hit taluks who are shifted to 273 relief camps in the regions. The NDRF team, Disaster management team including fire and emergency personnel are moving people from flood-affected areas to safety.

When the victimized people pleaded for help, the whole state came forward to help the innocents in their own willing way. One such person is Infosys chairperson Sudha Murthy who has decided to donate Rs 10 crores for the flood-hit areas relief fund.

A woman with a golden heart

It is not the first time the Infosys chairperson showed a kind gesture. Previously, she had distributed Rs. 10 Lakh each to the families of the martyrs who had laid down their lives in Pulwama attack. Last year under her leadership, the Infosys Foundation had donated Rs 25 crore for rehabilitation works in flood-ravaged Kodagu District. The company had also sent 4 truckloads of survival kits including 40 items like clothes, rice, drinking water, and medicines. She had also sent survival kits to Kerala worth of Rs 1 crore.

Talking about her big personality, she has always shown her golden heart to step forward in for a good cause. She keeps donating because she always feels a great sense of satisfaction when she serves the needy.
