She was only 13 years old when she got married to Dr.Raj
Parvathamma was born in the year 1939 to Appaji Gowda and Lakshmamma as a second child of the eight children of the family. She gets married to Dr.Raj as per the vow gave to her by Raj’s father Singanallur Puttaswamiah on June 25, 1953. From then to till date, she has been the backbone of Dr.Raj and his family, more than that to the whole Kannada film industry.
Parvathamma has produced more than 80 all-time hit movies of Kannada
She is one of the greatest producers the Kannada film industry has ever witnessed. The lady has produced more than 80 films and the list includes movies like Anand, Om, Janumada Jodi, Kaviratna kalidasa, Haalu jenu and few other. The enterprise has introduced talents like Rakshitha Prem, Ramya, Prema, Sudha rani, Mala sri and others to the industry.

It so happened once that Parvathmma could not see the climax scene of the movie ‘Bhagyavantharu’ as it was a dying scene of Dr.Raj and Saroja Devi. Ironically, the character name played Saroja devi was Parvathi. She was emotionally so moved that she walked away from the theater.

She was a voracious reader and her movies talked about it
Parvathamma stands unique and special in a way that she has brought the popular novels on a silver screen. She was cautious and choosy in opting a subject for Dr.Raj as she carried a huge responsibility on her shoulders. Few of the novel based movies produced by Parvathamma Rajkumar are Eradu Kanasu, Chalisuva modagalu, Ondu mutthina kathe and others.
A lot of awards has graced her achievements
Parvathamma Rajkumar was honored and awarded with Phalke Academy award, Kannada Rajyotsava award, and a lifetime achievement award from the Government of Karnataka. Whenever the Kannada language was in risk or whenever there was an offense to Kannada culture and heritage then Pravathamma has always spoken and stood as a leader representing the 7 crores Kannadigas.
An Entrepreneur who built Vajreshwari Combines or Poornima Enterprise
There was a time when Parvathamma had to undergo a situation where she was betrayed by the fellow producers. The lady was so strong enough that she bounced back with her own production company and today, this company has produced more than 80 movies and few TV serials. The first movie that came under this banner was Trimurthi with Dr.Raj in a lead role. The humungous success of this movie elevated Pravathamma Rajkumar to the next level as the strongest producer of KFI
Parvathamma died at the age of 77
They say that everything has to end but I would say that this is an end of the era of golden times of KFI. Parvathamma was suffering from breast cancer and was admitted to M S Ramaiah Hospital on 14th May 2017. Later on, she was shifted to ICU and on 31st May 2017, she went into a cardiac arrest at 4.30 AM. Doctors reported that the multiple organ failures were the cause of her death.
