The founder of the fintech unicorn, Ashneer Grover has been fired/resigned from BharatPe which was a company he himself found. Prior to this many incidents of him and his controversies came to light and finally his resignation has seen the light of the day. But the question remains, what pushed him to this position?
Here are 5 major reasons why Ashneer resgined from BharatPe
- It started with the controversy ever since an audio clip of him allegedly using expletives against a Kotak Bank staffer had surfaced in January. While Grover claimed the audio clip was fake, the bank had said it would take legal action against Grover.
- Then he was sent on a leave by the company and BharatPe announced that it had independent auditors to look into the company’s practices under Grover.
- Grover later challenged the decision through a plea at the Singapore International Arbitration Centre claiming the company’s investigation against him was illegal. On February 27, the arbitrator ruled against Grover saying there was no ground to stop governance review at the fintech firm, PTI reported.
- Then his wife, Madhuri Jain Grover was sacked from the company quoting his unaccountable expenditure on beauty treatments and foreign trips. This was the major push.
- Today his resignation reads that the company’s interests were vilified and he was treated in the most disrespectful manner hence he has resigned from the same.
