“Zeeshan’s Lawyer : The statements of the character cannot be attributed to the actor.
Justice Shah : You accepted the contract after reading the script. You cannot hurt religious sentiments. ”
The controversy around web series Tandav starring Mohammad Zeeshan Ayyub and other actors has been ongoing ever since its release.
There were FIR’s filed against the makers and the cast and crew owing that they have hurt religious sentiments. The makers even issued an apology and even deleted that objectionable scene of Zeeshan that claimed to have hurt religious sentiments.
And now lawyer of actor Zeeshan sought protection against him and quashing of all the FIR’s against him as he was just a character in the show.
However the bench of justice refused the request, As per reports when Mohd Zeeshan Ayyub’s lawyer argued that he was just an actor under contract and that the views expressed by his character could not be attributed to him, Justice MR Shah said, “You accepted the contract after reading the script. You cannot hurt religious sentiments.”.
